Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), one of India’s leading IT services companies, has finalized plans to establish a state-of-the-art IT facility in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.

This significant development is poised to transform the region’s tech landscape and boost employment opportunities.

Key Details of TCS Vishakhapatnam

The IT facility will be strategically located in Visakhapatnam, a coastal city known for its growing tech ecosystem. The facility is designed to accommodate up to 10,000 employees, making it a substantial addition to the local workforce.

The news was officially announced by Nara Lokesh, Minister for Information Technology and Electronics, during his visit to the Tata Group headquarters in Mumbai.

With 10,000 new positions, this facility will significantly contribute to employment in Andhra Pradesh. As the state aims to become India’s premier business destination, TCS’s commitment is a major milestone.

The influx of skilled jobs will stimulate the local economy, driving growth in related sectors and creating a positive ripple effect.

Visakhapatnam, already on its way to becoming an IT and hi-tech hub, will receive a substantial boost from TCS’s presence. The city’s reputation as a tech hotspot will only strengthen.

Significance

Last year, during the Global Investors Summit, the state government had inked 353 MoUs for the execution of projects worth over Rs 13 lakh crore.

Tata Group’s decision underscores renewed confidence in Andhra Pradesh as an attractive investment destination. It follows closely on the heels of HCL Technologies’ recent investment announcement in Vizag.

The state government, led by Nara Lokesh, aims to position Andhra Pradesh as the top choice for business ventures. TCS’s commitment aligns perfectly with this vision.
