TCS Sets Up Major Campus in Kochi, Creating 10,000 Jobs

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), India’s largest software services giant, is setting up a sprawling 37-acre campus at the Kinfra Electronics Manufacturing Cluster in Kochi.

This ambitious project is expected to create around 10,000 jobs and significantly boost the local economy.

TCS Expansion in Kochi: Project Details & Government Support

The project, which will see an investment of Rs 690 crore, aims to focus on electronics R&D and IT/ITeS (Information Technology Enabled Services).

TCS is also looking for additional office space at InfoPark in Kochi to meet its immediate need for 5,000 seats.

The Kerala government is actively facilitating this expansion by helping TCS find suitable space across tech parks in Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, and Kozhikode.

The state government has taken several steps to support TCS’s expansion.

This includes the expansion of the Smart City project in Kakkanad to provide more space for IT companies and ongoing discussions to acquire land for the expansion of a cyberpark in Kozhikode.

The government’s role as a facilitator has been crucial in helping TCS find the necessary space for its new campus.

TCS’s Presence in Kerala: Economic Impact

We expect the new campus to have a significant economic impact on the region.

By creating 10,000 jobs, the new campus will provide employment opportunities for local residents. It will also contribute to the overall growth of the IT sector in Kerala.

The Kinfra EMC is located near Cochin International Airport, Cochin Port, and NH 544. This proximity ensures excellent connectivity for logistics and supply chain efficiency.

TCS already has a major development center at Technopark in Thiruvananthapuram, which is one of the largest IT parks in India.

In 2014, TCS set up the world’s largest corporate learning and development center in Thiruvananthapuram.

The center can train 50,000 IT professionals annually.

The new campus in Kochi will further strengthen TCS’s presence in the state and contribute to its growth.
