Getting an interview call from tech giants like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and Goldman Sachs etc is really tough but it is also not impossible.

As per her LinkedIn bio, Deeksha Pandey Software Engineer who is currently employed with the Google Hyderabad office for the past 11 months. She shared a LinkedIn post sharing five things that helped her get interview calls from leading tech giants.

She shared the post saying, “How I got interview calls/ online assessments links from companies like Google Microsoft Amazon Goldman Sachs Infosys, etc.”

“1- I subscribed to almost 100+ companies’ career pages. So whenever there is a new position open in any of those companies, I get an email notification”, she said.

“2- I participated in almost all of the hiring contests organized frequently by multiple companies. Some popular sites that regularly conduct these contests are HackerEarth, D2C, etc”, she added.

“3- I participated in multiple hackathons that indirectly helped me in getting interview calls. For example, I participated in Microsoft Fixathon by Microsoft which eventually helped me in getting an interview call from Microsoft”, the post added.

“4- Before submitting my resume to any job opening, I used to trim my resume according to the job description. I tried to highlight/add the keywords in my resume that was in sync with the job description”, she added.

“5- I got 1000s of rejection emails but that didn’t stop me from applying to new job openings. So in summary, don’t get demotivated if you are not getting any reply from the companies. Just keep applying, you never know which could be the one for you”, she concluded.

To summarize here are the five-step strategy include

  • Subscribe to the career pages
  • Participate in hiring contests
  • Participate in hackathons
  • Alter your resume according to the job description
  • Don’t give up
