IT giant, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) starts onboarding some of the lateral hires whose onboarded was earlier delayed for 3 months, from July to Oct this year.

According to reports of TOI, In an email to the employees the company said, “As you commence your new journey, we are glad to invite you to attend the in-person TCS onboarding programme scheduled for July 17 (Monday).”

The TCS employees who cleared the background verification process have been onboarded. Additionally, the company emphasized critical examination in order to remove fake resumes during the induction process.

Earlier, An IT employees union, Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate (NITES) wrote a letter to Labour Minister urging them to take action as Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) reportedly delayed the onboarding of several lateral hires.

NITES had asked the Minister for Labour and Employment Bhupender Yadav to intervene in the matter. According to reports, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) delayed the onboarding of over 200 lateral hires for at least three to four months.

NITES wrote in a letter,” This decision has caused severe hardship to several employees who had resigned from their previous jobs to join TCS.”

“The consequences of this delayed onboarding are particularly distressing considering the financial obligations and family responsibilities that the affected employees bear,” NITES added in the letter.

The IT union also alleged that the employees were informed about the delay in their onboarding when they reached TCS offices on their joining date.

NITES further said in the letter “We request you to direct TCS to pay the affected employees their full salaries for the three months that their onboarding has been delayed, provide the affected employees with access to TCS’s employee assistance program, and work with the affected employees to find alternative employment opportunities within TCS,” the union wrote in the letter.
