Infosys Foundation, the CSR and philanthropic arm of Infosys, launched a major employment initiative on July 15, 2025. The ‘Infosys Springboard Livelihood Program’ aims to help half a million young people across India find jobs by the year 2030. To start the program, the foundation has committed over ₹200 crore.

This new effort focuses on building job skills for both graduates and undergraduates. It covers a wide range of industries, from technology and finance to marketing and logistics. Training will be offered in areas like artificial intelligence, machine learning, digital marketing, and finance.

In addition to these technical areas, the program also includes soft skills such as communication, time management, and interview preparation—skills often required to do well at work.

Infosys Foundation has partnered with 20 organizations to help carry out this work. These partners include ICT Academy, Unnati, Nirmaan, Magic Bus, Aga Khan Rural Support Programme, Centum, CII Foundation, and NIIT Foundation. Together, they will help connect participants with job opportunities and prepare them for long-term employment.

Sumit Virmani, trustee at Infosys Foundation, said India has a chance to focus on skill-building in response to the fast growth of industries shaped by new technology.

He explained that the Springboard Livelihood Program was created to support this demand by linking skill training with actual employment. He emphasized that this approach helps the broader economy grow by creating a skilled workforce ready to meet current and future industry needs.

V. Srikanth, CEO of ICT Academy, said that there’s a sharp rise in demand for workers trained in IT, knowledge processing, finance, retail, e-commerce, and logistics. These areas are growing quickly, and businesses are looking for people who are ready to work from day one.

Ramesh Swamy, founder of the Unnati Foundation, compared the possible impact of this program to the mid-day meal program in schools, which has helped many underprivileged children. He noted that this kind of support could change the lives of unemployed youth by giving them access to steady work.

Infosys Springboard, the digital platform behind this initiative, has already helped over 80,000 job seekers find employment in the last financial year, according to Infosys. This shows the program’s potential to create lasting results at a much larger scale.

The Springboard Livelihood Program is built to give young people the tools they need to find and keep jobs in growing industries. With support from multiple organizations and a strong focus on both hard and soft skills, the program is set to make a difference in the lives of many across India.
