Capgemini to hire 25K and reskill 50K employees in India

Capgemini to hire 25,000 people in 2020 and reskill 50,000 employees in next 6 Months

IT major, Capgemini is on track to meet its target of hiring 25,000 to 30,000 employees in India by 2020 and plans to reskill about 50,000 employees over the next six months.

The company has onboarded till now 9,500 people in the first half of 2020, which is a mix of freshers and lateral hires.

Selvan Dorairaj, Vice President & Head of Learning and Development – India, Capgemini, “We strive to equip employees with the requisite skills to deliver quality service to clients and provide learning opportunities for continuous development,”

“Our learning initiatives are designed with an objective to provide end-to-end transformation through skill enhancement,” Dorairaj said.

Keeping to the company’s vision for 2020, Capgemini is focussing on upskilling talent and expanding its capabilities in India. As part of this, it has already reskilled about 50,000 employees in India in the first half of 2020. “The areas of focus are majorly .Net; Java; Full Stack; Artificial Intelligence (AI), Agile and Automation,” Dorairaj said to Mint

Recently Capgemini partnered with Coursera to upskill employees, promote a culture of lifelong learning, and offer high-quality learning to its employees.

The partnership also complements the launch of Capgemini’s Digital Learning Hub, “NEXT“, an AI-enabled digital learning platform to address all employee development needs. There are 4,000 courses on offer to Capgemini employees across the business, technology, data science, and personal development.

Capgemini, a global leader in consulting, technology services, and digital transformation. It has a significant presence in India with 125,000 employees, nearly half of its global headcount of 270,000.
