Delhivery, India’s largest fully integrated logistics provider, announced the launch of its first all-women distribution centre in Kerala, located in the rapidly growing hub of Kochi.

Inaugurated on Thursday, November 20, 2025, the facility marks the company’s sixth such centre across India, reinforcing its strategic initiative to significantly increase women’s participation in the historically male-dominated logistics sector.

The Kochi centre is a fully functional hub, employing women in roles spanning core operations, last-mile delivery, and team leadership.

It has an impressive capacity to process over 1,000 parcels daily, demonstrating the high efficiency and dedication of its all-women workforce from the outset.

Infrastructure Built for Inclusion

A hallmark of the new Kochi facility is its commitment to gender-inclusive infrastructure.

Recognizing the unique challenges faced by women in the industry, the facility features specially designed, women-centric infrastructure, including secure rest areas, dedicated changing facilities, and ergonomically designed workspaces.

Furthermore, the company has implemented enhanced safety and security features and introduced flexible work arrangements specifically aimed at supporting work-life balance and promoting higher retention.

Prashant Gazipur, Senior Vice President of Last Mile Operations at Delhivery, emphasized that this focus is not merely a social goal but a strategic business imperative.

“Over the years, we have seen how our women colleagues strengthen operations by bringing discipline, consistency, and accountability to their roles,” Prashant stated.

Data from Delhivery’s existing all-women hubs confirms this: the company reports that its women associates record 20% lower attrition rates, coupled with higher productivity and better attendance compared to their male counterparts.

Delhivery Pan-India Expansion and Long-Term Strategy

The Kochi launch expands Delhivery’s network of all-women centres to six locations nationwide, following successful operations in Moga (Punjab), Sikar (Rajasthan), Satna (Madhya Pradesh), and the Delhi hubs of Mayapuri and Shahdara.

This expansion is part of a comprehensive four-pillar diversity strategy adopted by the logistics giant.

This strategy focuses on:

  • (1) Infrastructure through facilities designed specifically for women;
  • (2) Inclusive Hiring Practices that actively promote diversity;
  • (3) Building a supportive Workplace Culture; and
  • (4) Establishing structured Career Development pathways for leadership and skill enhancement.

This holistic approach is positioned to address the deep-rooted challenges of attracting and retaining female talent in logistics.

By building infrastructure and policy that supports its workforce, Delhivery is actively working to dismantle traditional barriers, creating a more inclusive and efficient last-mile delivery ecosystem for the future.
