Cipla Appoints Arun Kakatkar as Global Chief People Officer

Cipla, a leading and rapidly growing global pharmaceutical company, has appointed Arun Kakatkar as its Global Chief People Officer.

In this role, Arun will oversee Cipla’s global people strategy, covering talent management, workforce planning, leadership development, and organisational culture across all its operations worldwide.

Extensive Experience and Background

Arun brings over 25 years of global experience in human resources and organisational leadership.

Before joining Cipla, he was working as General Manager- HR at Microsoft India and South Asia, shaping an inclusive, high-performance culture, building leadership teams, and integrating people strategies with business objectives.

He also served as President and Chief of Strategy and Organization at Kalyani Group/Bharat Forge, leading organization transformation, building leadership capacity, and driving long-term growth strategy.

Earlier, Arun spent over a decade with TE Connectivity, where he served as Managing Director India and Vice President HR for Asia Pacific, overseeing 9,000 employees across manufacturing, sales, engineering, and shared services. His work focused on HR transformation, succession planning, talent management, and aligning people strategy with business goals.

He has also held senior HR roles at Flextronics, Ingersoll Rand, Foseco, and Black & Decker, building HR functions, leadership pipelines, and high-performance cultures across geographies and industries.

Arun earned an MBA in Operations Management and Human Resources from Savitribai Phule Pune University (1993–1995) and a Bachelor of Engineering in Production Engineering from the same university.
