This effort aligns with the Group’s broader goal to hire approximately 6,000 people in India by 2026, with a heavy emphasis on software engineering and digital innovation.
“As human intelligence and AI converge, our workforce must be intentionally designed: skills-led, anchored in data, and aligned to strategy,” Ritu stated.
Her priorities also include accelerating reskilling initiatives and strengthening cultural enablers such as Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I), wellbeing, and experimentation.
India: A Strategic Hub for Global Innovation
NatWest Group India has approximately 19,000 employees across Gurugram, Bengaluru, and Chennai.
This workforce accounts for nearly 20% of the firm’s global staff and 50% of its global technology operations.
Ruchika Panesar, Country Head for India, emphasized that Tushir’s “enterprise-first mindset” is vital for navigating this scale.
By integrating Ritu’s strategic oversight, NatWest aims to solidify India’s position as a powerhouse of innovation.
