Nokia Renews Leadership Model in India; Announces New Country Leaders

Nokia has announced a significant restructuring of its leadership in India, appointing Samar Mittal as India Country Business Leader and Vibha Mehra as India Country Manager.
Effective April 1, 2026, this renewed model is designed to sharpen Nokia’s business focus and strengthen its presence in one of the world’s most dynamic technology markets.
Driving Business Strategy and AI Integration
In his capacity as India Country Business Leader, Samar Mittal will oversee Nokia’s go-to-market strategy.
His mandate includes shaping the company’s strategic direction with telecommunication providers, mission-critical enterprises, and the burgeoning sector of AI and cloud providers.
Samar brings nearly 30 years of experience to the role.
He previously served as Vice President at Nokia, leading the Cloud and Network Services business across the Middle East and Africa.
His deep expertise in sales leadership, spanning India, Malaysia, and Dubai, will be pivotal as Nokia aligns its portfolio with India’s evolving digital infrastructure needs.

Nokia Strengthening Strategic Presence and Public Relations
Vibha Mehra, as the new India Country Manager, will focus on deepening Nokia’s strategic footprint. Her responsibilities include spearheading government relations, communications strategy, and public relations.
Additionally, she will lead the “India site strategy,” advancing the company’s people agenda and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
Vibha’s background includes over 26 years of diverse experience at global giants like Microsoft, Intel, and TCS.
Most recently, she served as Nokia’s Vice President for Government Relations, managing geopolitics and government affairs across the Asia-Pacific region.
Her appointment underscores Nokia’s commitment to being recognized as a trusted and responsible technology leader in India.
A Unified Vision for a Digital Future
The dual-leadership structure reflects Nokia’s long-term commitment to the “AI-native” era.
By separating business execution from strategic site management and public affairs, Nokia aims to increase organizational agility.
The two leaders will work in tandem to advance connectivity and contribute to India’s goals for a sustainable and digitally efficient future.
This move comes as Nokia continues its global transformation.
It follows the 2025 transition to CEO Justin Hotard and a reorganized business model focused on Network and Mobile Infrastructure.
