Accor Appoints Amit Malik as VP – People & Culture, South Asia

Accor, a world-leading hospitality group, has announced the appointment of Amit Malik as Vice President – People & Culture for South Asia.

In this role, Amit will join the South Asia leadership team and lead the People, Talent & Culture agenda across India and the wider region. The move comes as Accor continues to expand its footprint and strengthen its talent ecosystem across South Asia’s dynamic hospitality landscape.

Driving Talent, Culture and Organisational Excellence

Amit will work closely with business leaders to build stronger organisational capabilities, foster leadership excellence, and enhance employee experience across Accor’s growing portfolio. His mandate will focus on aligning people strategies with business priorities while nurturing a high-performance, purpose-driven culture.

Commenting on the appointment, Ranju Alex, Chief Executive Officer, South Asia, Accor, said the company is pleased to welcome Amit Malik, highlighting that his strong business orientation and deep expertise in people strategy will play a critical role in strengthening the organisation’s talent framework and culture across the region.

Extensive Leadership Experience Across Industries

With over 25 years of experience, Amit brings a blend of strategic HR leadership, business acumen, and organisational transformation expertise.

Prior to joining Accor, he served as President – Japan, Asia Pacific & Australia at WadzPay. He also held several senior leadership roles at Aviva Life Insurance India, including Chief People Officer and CEO & Managing Director.

His career spans reputed organisations such as Bank of America, Royal Bank of Scotland, American Express, and GSK Consumer Healthcare.

Known for his expertise in culture building, leadership development, and governance, Malik has consistently contributed to strategic decision-making and organisational effectiveness.

He earned an MPM in HR from Symbiosis International University (1997–1999) and a Mechanical Engineering degree from Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College.
