Blue Dart Express Ltd., South Asia’s premier express air and integrated transportation provider, has announced a significant milestone in its diversity and inclusion (D&I) journey by onboarding over 200 Persons with Disabilities (PwDs).

This initiative, announced on January 22, 2026, marks a shift toward integrating specialized talent into full-time, mainstream roles across the company’s core business functions.

Blue Dart Mainstreaming Inclusion in Operations

Moving beyond symbolic representation, the newly hired employees are now contributing to critical segments of the supply chain.

These include sorting centers, customer experience teams, warehousing operations, and last-mile delivery support.

By placing PwDs in these high-impact roles, Blue Dart aims to shift the corporate narrative from “accommodation” to “merit-based empowerment.”

Strategic Partnerships and Training

To ensure a seamless transition, Blue Dart partnered with ecosystem enablers like the Sarthak Educational Trust.

These collaborations provided a framework for skill development, workplace assessments, and infrastructure alignment.

The company has implemented several supportive measures, including:

  • Sensitization Workshops: Training existing staff to foster an inclusive culture.
  • Sign Language Training: Bridging communication gaps within operational teams.
  • Workplace Adaptations: Customizing physical and digital environments to meet diverse accessibility needs.

Blue Dart Leadership’s Commitment to Dignity

Balfour Manuel, Managing Director of Blue Dart, emphasized that inclusion is a core “principle” rather than just a program.

He stated that by joining mainstream roles, PwDs are shaping the core of the business and building pathways to financial independence and dignity.

CHRO Beena Jacob reinforced this sentiment, noting that the initiative focuses on shifting from sympathy to merit.

The company plans to continue expanding its inclusive hiring pipeline throughout the coming year, backed by measurable outcomes and clear organizational goals.

Impact on the Logistics Sector

As a leader in the logistics industry, Blue Dart’s large-scale hiring of PwDs sets a benchmark for other Indian corporations.

The move aligns with global sustainability and social responsibility trends, demonstrating that a diverse workforce is a key driver of operational excellence and corporate resilience in the modern economy.
