Tech giant IBM announced the launch of its GenAI Innovation Center in Kochi, aimed at enabling enterprises, startups, and partners to explore and build generative AI technology.

IBM’s initiatives, such as the GenAI Innovation Center in Kochi, show its commitment to enhancing AI capabilities and addressing diverse societal and business challenges in India and beyond.

According to the company’s release, the center will accelerate AI innovation, boost productivity, and strengthen GenAI expertise in India.

“As organizations transition from AI experimentation to deployment for adding business value, they often find AI projects too complex or difficult to integrate due to limited skills or expertise,” the company said.

According to the release, the center will provide organizations with access to IBM experts and technologies designed to help build, scale, and accelerate the adoption of enterprise-grade AI.

The center is built on InstructLab, a new technology jointly developed by IBM and Red Hat to enhance Large Language Models (LLMs) with a client’s own data. It will also leverage IBM’s ‘watsonx’ AI and data platform and AI assistant technologies.

The GenAI Innovation Center will be part of the IBM India Software Lab in Kochi and will be managed by IBM’s technical experts.
