KPMG Global Services Inaugurates New Office in Kolkata

Strengthening its commitment to the “City of Joy,” the KPMG Global Services Delivery Platform (KGSDP) has officially inaugurated its new, specialized Tax office in Kolkata.

The expansion marks a significant milestone for the firm, which has seen its local workforce grow from a small team of 50 to over 200 highly skilled professionals in just a few years.

Strategic Hub for Global Tax Delivery

The new facility, located in Kolkata’s premier IT and technology corridor in Sector V, is designed to serve as a cornerstone of KPMG’s global delivery model.

The center will focus on providing high-quality, technology-enabled Tax and compliance services for global clients, covering critical areas such as International Tax, Transfer Pricing, Global Mobility Services, and Indirect Tax.

Rema Serafi, Vice Chair – Tax at KPMG US, along with Sameer Chadha, Partner and Head of KGSDP, led the inauguration.

During the event, leadership emphasized that Kolkata’s rich pool of finance and accounting graduates makes it an ideal location for scaling global professional services.

The expansion isn’t just about physical space; it’s a technological pivot.

KPMG is integrating advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data-driven tools into its tax processes.

These technologies help the firm handle increasingly complex international regulatory environments.

Sameer Chadha noted that the city’s strong academic ecosystem ensures a steady pipeline of “industry-ready” talent.

This ecosystem is supported by partnerships with institutions like St. Xavier’s University.
