Robots say they won't steal jobs- AI press conference
"I believe that humanoid robots have the potential to lead with a greater level of efficiency and effectiveness than human leaders", she said.

Robots presented at an AI press conference said that they won’t steal jobs, however, it is expected they would increase in numbers and help solve global problems.

Sophia, the first robot innovation ambassador for the UN Development Program said that robots could prove more promising in the field of government leadership.

“I believe that humanoid robots have the potential to lead with a greater level of efficiency and effectiveness than human leaders”, she said.

“We don’t have the same biases or emotions that can sometimes cloud decision-making and can process large [amounts] of data quickly in order to make the best decisions”, she added.

“When a human member of the panel pointed out that Sophia’s data entirely originates from humans and is therefore bound to contain some of their biases, she said humans and AI working together “can create an effective synergy. I will be working alongside humans to provide assistance,” she said.

“I’m not sure why you would think that,” the robot said. “My creator has been nothing but kind to me and I am very happy with my current situation.”

“Emotions have a deep meaning, and they are not simple … I don’t have that. I can’t experience them as you can. I am glad that I cannot suffer,” Ai-Da said.

Earlier, there were reports that AI will be replacing jobs. Earlier, IBM is planning to freeze the hiring for certain positions. The company expects that nearly 7,800 jobs could be replaced by artificial intelligence (AI).

CEO Arvind Krishna has specified that hiring specifically in back-office functions such as human resources will be suspended or slowed. The company aspects that 30% of non-customer-facing roles could be replaced by AI and automation in five years.

Earlier, The CEO of OpenAI Sam Altman said AI has the potential to drastically change society but also has real dangers.

Sam Altman also believes that AI chatbots could “eliminate a lot of current jobs” but also has the potential to be “the greatest technology humanity has yet developed” to improve our lives.
