Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, ISRO Opens Internship Program

The Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), a major research unit of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), has announced a new internship program for undergraduate and postgraduate students in science and engineering.

The program aims to give students direct research experience in India’s space sector. Applications are now open to eligible students across the country.

Eligibility and Application Process

The internship is managed by VSSC’s Human Resource Development Division. Students must apply online through the official portal before March 16, 2026.

Applicants must have scored more than 60% in their latest exam or have a minimum CGPA of 6.32 on a 10-point scale.

The program is open to Indian citizens who are currently enrolled in, or have recently completed, regular on-campus courses in science, technology, or engineering related to the Department of Space’s research areas.

Students from recognized Indian or international institutions can apply if they meet the required criteria.

Courses Details and Academic Requirements

  • Internship Period: 01st May 2026 to 31st July 2026
  • Last Date to Apply: 16 March 2026
  • Nationality: Indian citizens only
  • Minimum Marks: 60% overall or CGPA 6.32/10
  • Eligible Fields: Science and technology areas linked to ISRO programs

Engineering students in B.E. or B. Tech programs, as well as B.Sc. students in Physics or Chemistry, must have completed the required number of semesters based on their course structure.

Postgraduate students in M.Tech, M.E., and M.Sc. programs must have completed their first semester. PhD scholars must have finished their coursework to qualify.

Research Areas and Key Details

The internship covers several fields under ISRO, including aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, data science, space physics, and material science. Selected students will work on approved research projects at VSSC under the guidance of ISRO scientists and engineers.

VSSC has stated that no stipend or financial support will be provided during the internship. The number of selected candidates will depend on available facilities. Shortlisted students will receive confirmation through email.

  • Get the Application Form: Download the form from the VSSC HRDD portal, fill it out fully, and get approval from your Head of Department or Principal.
  • Add Required Documents: Include mark sheets, a brief resume, details of technical skills, project work, and any other required certificates.
  • Submit on Time: Send the completed form and documents by scanned email or by post to the Head of HRDD, VSSC, Thiruvananthapuram, before 16 March 2026.
  • Selection Notice: VSSC will contact selected candidates by email with further instructions before the start date.
