Jindal Stainless, India’s leading stainless steel manufacturer, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Xavier School of Management (XLRI) to launch a structured HR Competency Development Programme.

Announced on March 10, 2026, this nine-month initiative is designed to strengthen strategic human resource leadership and build a future-ready workforce aligned with the company’s aggressive growth targets.

Jindal Stainless and XLRI Strengthening the Leadership Pipeline

The customized program will be undertaken by a select group of 25 HR professionals from Jindal Stainless’ corporate offices and various plant locations.

The curriculum blends rigorous academic insights from XLRI with the real-world business context of the steel industry.

Delivered through a hybrid model of 19 interactive virtual sessions and five in-person modules, the course aims to equip participants with the tools necessary to navigate complex organizational dynamics.

Abhyuday Jindal, Managing Director of Jindal Stainless, emphasized the importance of this collaboration, stating that an organization is only as strong as its people.

He noted that the company is scaling production to reach an annual melt capacity of 4.2 million tonnes by FY27.

Establishing a robust leadership pipeline is critical for its long-term success.

Core Competencies and Strategic Impact

The program focuses on developing eight essential core competencies:

  • Business Acumen and Strategic Thinking
  • Stakeholder Management and Culture Building
  • Data Analytics and Design Thinking
  • Problem-Solving, Critical Thinking, and Change Management

Sushil Baveja, Chief Human Resources Officer at Jindal Stainless, highlighted the evolution of the modern HR function.

He noted that the role has moved far beyond traditional administrative tasks.

He remarked that today’s HR professionals must act as strategic business partners. They need strong analytical capabilities to drive innovation and tangible impact.

This partnership follows a series of talent-centric initiatives by Jindal Stainless, including a previous M.Tech program with IIT Bombay.

These efforts reinforce the company’s commitment to continuous learning and employee development in a rapidly evolving industrial landscape.
