Wipro Limited, a global leader in AI-powered technology services and consulting, has announced the acquisition of the Digital Transformation Solutions (DTS) business unit of HARMAN International, a subsidiary of Samsung.

The transaction is valued at $375 million (approximately ₹3,270 crore). It will close by December 31, 2025, pending regulatory approvals.

This acquisition marks a significant milestone in Wipro’s strategy to deepen its engineering research and development (ER&D) capabilities.

DTS is headquartered in Connecticut, USA.

It is recognized for its expertise in embedded software, digital engineering, device engineering, cloud and infrastructure services, data analytics, and enterprise automation.

The unit serves clients across industrial, consumer, hi-tech, healthcare, and aerospace sectors.

Workforce Integration and Global Reach

As part of the agreement, over 5,600 DTS employees—including senior leadership—across the Americas, Europe, and Asia will transition to Wipro.

This move will not only expand Wipro’s global footprint but also enhance its ability to deliver high-touch, domain-led engineering services at scale.

Upon completion, Wipro will integrate DTS into its Engineering Global Business Line.

The integration will bring together DTS’s personalized service model with Wipro’s global scale and advanced technology ecosystem, offering clients a balanced combination of agility and reach.

Wipro and HARMAN’S Leadership Perspectives on the Acquisition

Srini Pallia, CEO and Managing Director of Wipro Limited, described the acquisition as a pivotal step in the company’s transformation journey.

“Their specialized engineering expertise, combined with Wipro’s consulting-led, AI-powered capabilities, will significantly enhance the value we deliver to clients,” Srini said.

He emphasized that DTS’s presence in high-growth sectors and strategic markets complements Wipro’s global operations and strengthens its position as a trusted transformation partner.

Srikumar Rao, Managing Partner and Global Head of Engineering at Wipro, added that the acquisition will enable clients to embed AI across the full spectrum of engineering and connect the virtual and physical worlds.

He noted that the move reinforces Wipro’s software-defined, platform-centric approach and supports the delivery of complex transformation programs across industries.

HARMAN’s Strategic Realignment

Christian Sobottka, CEO of HARMAN, stated that the agreement opens a new chapter for DTS. It allows it to scale faster and reach more clients in key industries.

He expressed confidence that Wipro’s engineering depth and global ecosystem would help DTS realize its full growth potential.

Carolin Reichert, Chief Strategy Officer at HARMAN, stated that the transaction is strategically significant for the company.

It allows HARMAN to concentrate more deeply on its core strengths in automotive electronics and audio innovation.

She also noted that HARMAN will continue collaborating with Wipro and DTS to advance AI-first technologies across its product ecosystems.

Multi-Year Strategic Agreement with Samsung and HARMAN

In addition to the acquisition, Wipro will enter into a multi-year strategic agreement with both HARMAN and Samsung.

This partnership will unlock new avenues for joint growth and innovation, particularly in AI-powered engineering and digital transformation.

Deutsche Bank Securities Inc. served as the financial advisor to HARMAN for this transaction.
