HSBC India Elevates Vishal to SVP – Talent Acquisition Lead


HSBC India has announced the strategic appointment of Vishal Kumbla as Senior Vice President (SVP) – Talent Acquisition Lead for India, covering both Retail and Global Private Banking.
In his new capacity, Vishal will be responsible for orchestrating the national hiring strategy, scaling the workforce to support these new locations, and fortifying the bank’s “campus-to-career” pipelines.
Vishal Kumbla’s Professional Journey and Educational Qualifications
Vishal Kumbla is a seasoned recruitment strategist with a career spanning over two decades across top-tier global financial and technology firms.
Within HSBC, he has spent more than six years in progressive leadership roles, most recently serving as the Vice President of Talent Acquisition for Private and Retail Banking.
Prior to that, he was the Vice President of Strategic Resourcing and Campus Lead for India, where he was instrumental in standardizing hiring governance and building robust leadership pipelines.
His professional background before joining HSBC includes a tenure as Assistant Vice President at JPMorgan Chase & Co., where he supported corporate and leadership acquisition.
He also held significant leadership positions at Zycus, serving as the Global Delivery Head for Recruitment, and at Standard Chartered Securities, where he led enterprise hiring and branch banking recruitment.
His foundational years were shaped at Tech Mahindra Business Services, where he managed large-scale volume hiring and employer branding initiatives.
Vishal holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Mumbai University and further strengthened his professional expertise with a Diploma in Business Management from the Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research, specializing in Human Resources.
