Religare Enterprises Limited (REL) has announced the strategic appointment of Indrnil Choudhury (Indrnil C.) as its new Group Chief Human Resource Officer (GCHRO), effective from November 10, 2025.

This key induction into the senior leadership team underscores Religare’s commitment to strengthening its organizational backbone and aligning its people strategy with an ambitious long-term growth and expansion vision.

Indrnil C. brings over 26 years of extensive HR leadership experience across diverse sectors, including financial services, insurance, and retail.

His appointment is expected to be instrumental as Religare focuses on achieving industry-plus growth in broking, maintaining stability in health insurance, and targeting exponential growth in housing finance, as outlined in the firm’s recent strategic plans.

Veteran Experience Driving Transformation

Indrnil C. joins Religare after serving as the Group Head – HR & ESG at UTI Asset Management Company Ltd., where he was responsible for leading leadership development, talent strategy, culture transformation, and subsidiary alignment at a group level.

His career highlights include a significant 14-year tenure at HDFC Life Insurance Company Limited, where he rose to the level of Senior Vice President – HR.

During his time there, he steered large-scale HR initiatives across crucial domains like talent acquisition, succession planning, compensation and benefits, HR technology deployment, and comprehensive workforce engagement.

His earlier professional roles at firms like Datamatics and Shoppers Stop provided him with a strong foundational understanding of HR systems and organizational dynamics, enabling him to consistently drive capability development and strategic HR evolution throughout his career.

Religare Strengthening People Strategy for Future Growth

Religare’s decision to onboard a senior HR leader of Indrnil C.’s calibre signals its priority. This priority is building a future-ready, high-performance organization.

As GCHRO, he will be tasked with leading the Group’s HR transformation and fortifying leadership capability across all verticals. 

He will also embed a progressive, high-accountability culture.

The appointment comes at a time when REL is actively pursuing strategic growth. 

This includes moving forward with the process of listing its subsidiary, Care Health Insurance, on stock exchanges.

Such corporate actions require a robust and agile human capital strategy to manage rapid scaling, talent retention, and organizational restructuring.

Indrnil C.’s expertise lies in managing large-scale transformation and talent cycles.

The appointment, alongside a new Group General Counsel, is subject to shareholder approval.
