United Spirits Limited Appoints Chinmay Sharma as CHRO

United Spirits Limited, a subsidiary of Diageo, has appointed Chinmay Sharma as its new Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), effective March 5, 2026.

In his new role, he will lead the company’s people and culture agenda, drive organisational transformation, strengthen leadership capability, and align HR strategy with business growth priorities across markets.

The company disclosed the appointment in a regulatory filing dated February 13, 2026. Chinmay will join the organisation as Senior Management Personnel (SMP) and will be part of the executive leadership team.

He succeeds Shilpa Vaid, who will step down from the role on March 31, 2026, to transition into a new position within the Diageo group.

Extensive Experience

Chinmay brings more than two decades of global HR experience. Prior to this, he worked with GSK, serving as CHRO & Executive Vice President – Human Resources, India, leading the people strategy for its publicly listed pharmaceutical business (approx. GBP 400 million revenue, 4,000 employees, including a unionised workforce).

He played a pivotal role in driving cultural transformation aligned with the “#NewGSK” vision and later served as HR Business Leader, Performance Emerging Markets.

Earlier, he spent nearly nine years with Philip Morris International, leading HR across Asia, Switzerland and Malaysia, spearheading organisation transformation and capability building. He began his career at Procter & Gamble, developing expertise across talent, compensation, and HR business partnering.

He completed the HR Development Program at Cornell University and holds a PGDM (HR) from Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource Development, along with a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Rajasthan.
