Wipro Employees Now Allowed 30 Extra Days of Remote Work

Wipro, India’s leading IT services company, has expanded its hybrid work policy, effective from October 1.

The new guidelines grant employees an additional 30 days of remote work per year, subject to approval.

This extension aims to strike a balance between employee well-being and maintaining high performance standards.

Wipro Revised Policy

Under the revised hybrid work policy, Wipro employees can now work remotely for an extra 30 days annually.

These additional days can be utilized in two distinct categories:

Health-Related Remote Work (15 Days):

Employees who are unwell can avail themselves of up to 15 days of remote work.

Whether recovering from illness or managing a health condition, this provision ensures that employees can prioritize their well-being without compromising productivity.

The flexibility to work from home during health-related challenges contributes to a supportive work environment.

Caregiving Remote Work (15 Days):

Wipro recognizes the importance of family care.

Employees who need to provide care for family members—whether due to illness, childcare, or other caregiving responsibilities—can now take an additional 15 days of remote work.

This compassionate approach acknowledges the diverse needs of Wipro’s workforce and fosters a culture of empathy.

Wipro CEO’s Perspective

Saurabh Govil, Wipro’s Chief Human Resources Officer, expressed his pride in the new hybrid work policy via LinkedIn.

He stated, “At Wipro, we have taken a modern approach to the future of work—one that focuses equally on the well-being of our associates while maintaining a high-performing culture driven by collaboration.”

Saurabh emphasized the company’s commitment to accommodating employees during challenging times, although specific details of the policy were not explicitly disclosed.

Wipro’s Resilience

Despite the challenges faced by the technology industry, Wipro has managed to buck the trend of headcount reduction.

During the first quarter of the year, the company reported a marginal increase in its employee count.

As of June, Wipro employed a total of 234,391 associates, compared to 234,054 at the end of March.

This growth underscores Wipro’s resilience and adaptability in a dynamic business landscape.
