Pride Month is crucial in companies as it fosters inclusivity, diversity, and acceptance. Celebrating Pride Month helps create a supportive environment for LGBTQ+ employees, enhancing their sense of belonging and well-being.

It promotes awareness and education about LGBTQ+ issues, reducing discrimination and prejudice. Companies that actively support Pride Month demonstrate their commitment to equality, which can attract a diverse talent pool and improve employee retention.

Additionally, such initiatives enhance the company’s reputation and brand loyalty among consumers who value social responsibility. Overall, Pride Month celebrations contribute to a more inclusive, innovative, and equitable workplace.

Pride Month 2024 at Kyndryl India

In Conversation with SightsIn Plus, Rajita Singh, Chief People Officer, Kyndryl India said, “Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity (ID&E) are at the core of Kyndryl as an organization and we are committed to creating an inclusive environment for LGBTQ+ employees.”

“We believe it is not just the right thing to do but is also essential for our business growth and as an independent company,” she added.

Rajita Singh further said, “On the occasion of Pride Month 2024, we are launching ‘KIN Embrace’, a dedicated internal channel that provides networking, mentoring, and advocacy opportunities for the LGBTQ+ community and allies as part of our Kyndryl Inclusion Networks (KIN).”

“To encourage allyship, we are organizing an AllyChallenge in partnership with The Pride Circle. We will introduce a learning program that provides orientation and resources on LGBTQ+ issues and best practices and a monthly advice column called ‘Yours Truly’ that carries bold, necessary conversations about the practical aspects of allyship, including ways to address discrimination, mental health, and homophobia at work,” she further added.

Rajita also said, “Kyndryl encourages employees to disclose their preferred pronouns on internal platforms and emails to foster an inclusive culture. The company’s leave policy includes fully paid leaves for adoption, surrogacy, and paternity to support same-sex partners and gender-transitioned individuals.”

“We offer paid leave options for time off needed after gender affirmation procedures. The group medical insurance coverage includes gender affirmation treatment costs in alignment with WPATH guidelines and allows same-sex partners to be covered as dependents. The group life and accident insurance extends the nomination of same-sex partners as beneficiaries.” She added.

At Kyndryl India, Pride Month emphasizes inclusivity and diversity, fostering a supportive environment for LGBTQ+ employees. By celebrating Pride Month, Kyndryl India enhances awareness, reduces discrimination, and demonstrates its commitment to equality, promoting a workplace where all employees feel valued and respected.
