Raj Karunakaran Promoted to Head of HR- Indian Subcontinent at Cargill

Raj Karunakaran promoted to Head of HR – Indian Subcontinent at Cargill. In his new role, Raj is responsible for providing HR leadership and solutions for all Cargill businesses in this region, defining and delivering people and talent agenda that aligns with the business roadmap through a strong HR team.

Raj joined Cargill Business Services as Global HR Leader in 2018 from Philips, where he was the director HR/ global HR business partner for Philips Mobile Surgery business. And before joining Philips in 2009, he has worked with companies like Tech Mahindra, Astra Zeneca, and Fidelity Investments.

Mr. Karunakaran is a senior HR leader with a progressive career span of 21 years, including managing leadership roles, he has gained exposure and cross-cultural experience in handling the entire gamut of HR including strategy formulation, organization development, HR business partnering, culture building interventions, change management, talent acquisition, talent management, compensation and benefits, training and development, performance management.

Raj is graduate from Barkatullah Vishwavidyalaya and completed his post-graduation in human resources from Savitribai Phule Pune University.

In India, Cargill’s operations started in 1987. It has businesses in refined oils, food ingredients, grain and oilseeds, cotton, animal nutrition, industrial specialties, and trade structured finance. Cargill markets leading consumer brands of edible oils such as Nature Fresh, Gemini, Sweekar, Leonardo Olive Oil, Rath and Sunflower brand of hydrogenated fats. It also markets wheat flour under the Nature Fresh brand name.
