UAE-based companies like Statevolt and UAEV are leading the charge with initiatives including gigafactories and expansive charging networks.

Indo-UAE collaborations, such as LOHUM Cleantech’s EV battery recycling plant, are further catalyzing job creation and skill transfer. These ventures provide opportunities for Indian blue-collar workers to contribute to the EV ecosystem while gaining competitive wages and skill development.

Sustainable Construction

With 2024 designated as the “Year of Sustainability” in the UAE, the construction sector is undergoing a green revolution.

Demand for workers skilled in sustainable construction practices surged by 25% from May 2023 to April 2024, particularly in roles involving Building Information Modeling (BIM), energy efficiency, and sustainable materials management​.

Indian blue-collar workers are filling roles such as prefabrication engineers, quality control inspectors, and energy efficiency specialists. Notably, green construction jobs offer 48% higher salaries compared to traditional roles, with longer-term contracts that provide greater job security.
