BharatPe Appoints Ajit Kumar as Chief Technology Officer

BharatPe, India’s leading financial services and UPI payments platform, has announced the appointment of Ajit Kumar as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

In this role, Ajit will lead the company’s technology strategy and innovation roadmap, focusing on enhancing product excellence, scalability, and reliability across BharatPe’s payments and lending platforms.

His appointment marks a key step in BharatPe’s ongoing mission to drive financial inclusion and digital transformation across India’s merchant ecosystem.

A Veteran Technologist with Proven Fintech Expertise

Ajit Kumar brings over 19 years of diverse experience in building large-scale, high-impact technology systems. Before joining BharatPe, he served as Senior Vice President – Engineering at Paytm, where he played a pivotal role in scaling its fintech infrastructure.

Earlier, he held leadership roles at Snapdeal (Shopo), Times Internet, and SAP Labs, contributing to platform innovation and organizational growth.

Welcoming him, Nalin Negi, CEO of BharatPe, said, “Ajit’s deep understanding of UPI and payments infrastructure, along with his experience in building scalable fintech platforms, will be instrumental as we strengthen our technology stack and empower millions of merchants and consumers.”

Expressing enthusiasm about his new role, Ajit Kumar said, “I am thrilled to join BharatPe at this exciting juncture. The company has been a true catalyst in shaping India’s fintech landscape.
