Merck India appoints Shiv Kumar as Head- Human Resources

A leading science and technology company with expertise spanning sectors like Healthcare Life Science and Electronics, Merck India has appointed Shiv Kumar as Head- Human Resources.

He will replace Nitin Singh, Head – HR, APAC, Merck Group who is moving to an expanded regional role within the Group.

In this new role, Shiv is responsible for shaping and leading the HR function of Merck India to drive business impact. He is passionate about scaling organisations, employer branding Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

Shiv has over 18 years of experience in both human resources and business leadership. He has worked with Global Capability Centers (GCCs), technology services companies, and business process management organizations in the areas of HR Strategy, HR Business Partnering, Talent Management, and Talent Acquisition.

As a talent and organizational change consultant, he has advised clients across multiple continents and industries, including pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, utilities, and natural resources. He is passionate about scaling organizations, employer branding, and D&I.

Prior to joining Merck India, he has been associated with ZipCar, a US-based organization as an HR Leader, and earlier, he has worked with organizations like Lowe’s, Wells Fargo, Wipro Technologies, and Genpact in different capacities.

Shiv is a postgraduate in Human Resources from Symbiosis and did bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum, India.
