Consumer goods major Reckitt has announced a leadership change for its India business and Gaurav Jain has been elevated to the position of overall Chief of the company.

According to CNBC report, the company has brought the health and hygiene business units under one focussed leadership team to optimise the potential of the complementary nature of products spread over the Dettol, Lysol and Harpic businesses.

Now, the company believes that the time is ripe to go ahead and consolidate these operations, as a result of which Gaurav Jain has become the head of the India business.

Jain’s new designation is as senior VP, South Asia and all business units in this SA region will report to him.

Four years ago, the Indian counterpart of Reckitt Benckiser had split its business into two separate units Health and Hygiene. The two units had two functional heads, including an overall chief executive.

Earlier, Jain was heading the health unit of the company since 2017.

The health unit’s key brands are Dettol, Veet, Durex and Strepsils. The hygiene and home unit’s key brands are Harpic, Lysol and Mortein.
