Megha Tata joins Cosmos-Maya appoints as CEO

Singapore and India-based Animation Company, Cosmos-Maya India Pvt. Ltd. has announced the appointment of Megha Tata as Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

In this role, Megha Tata will be responsible for the firm’s operations and lead the animation studio into its next phase of growth, it said in a statement.

The company said at Cosmos-Maya Megha aims to leverage her expertise to drive the organization’s next phase of growth.

Sachin Khandelwal, taking care of director at NewQuest Cash Partners, an investor in Cosmos-Maya, stated, “Having made various remarkably acclaimed animation displays as just one of the major kids-focussed animation organizations in India and Asia.”

Cosmos-Maya is perfectly positioned to even further cement its dominance and unlock new growth possibilities with Megha’s deep encounter with broadcasters and in the general media and leisure field”, Sachin Khandelwal further added.

Megha Tata, Cosmos-Maya India Pvt. Ltd. CEO said, “I am thrilled to start my new journey with Cosmos-Maya. Animation is a sector that poses immense growth potential.”

“Cosmos-Maya has been at the forefront of the industry in India and Asia and I look forward to working closely with the senior leadership team to create a vigorous growth path for the company,” Megha Tata added.

Megha comes with over three decades of experience in the management of television networks in the media and entertainment industry.

Megha was recognized as the ‘Next 30’ most powerful woman to look out for in 2010. She has held leadership positions across other broadcast companies. 

Prior to the current organization, Megha was Managing Director at Discovery Communications India. She worked with the organization for over 3 years.

Megha is an alumnus of Narsee Monjee College of Commerce. Previously, her association has been with companies such as BTVI, HBO, Turner International India, and Star India.

According to a recent media and entertainment industry report by the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), The Indian animation and visual effects industry, which commands around 10% of the global market share, has the potential to reach 20-25% by 2025.
