The world’s largest electronics manufacturer, Foxconn has hit a hiring target of 100,000 new workers. The company is hiring for its Zhengzhou plant in China.

The apple supplier had eased production pressure at the COVID-hit site. Foxconn quadrupled bonuses for workers who stayed with the organization.

The company additionally began a recruitment drive that advertised higher than usual salaries. Foxconn has also been raising its incentives to bring back workers. The company is offering a 500 yuan (US$70) bonus to returning workers and quadrupling its daily attendance bonus to 400 yuan.

Yicai, citing a high-ranking staffer at the plant, said the company had received more than 100,000 job applications so far. He also added that the company will be ending its latest hiring drive.

The group has more than 50,000 employees, with a global footprint that includes the United States, China, Taiwan, and over 10 other countries, with functions including R&D, sales, manufacturing, supply chain management, products and services extending into IT product manufacturing (computers, printers, printer cartridges, monitors, game consoles, and wireless speakers), industrial PCs, after-sales services, recycling, peer-to-peer digital payment platform, and strategic investments, on behalf of customers to provide an end-to-end, one-stop solution for R&D, manufacturing, sales/marketing, and after-sales.
