TCS Q2 Results and Hiring Trends

In Q2 FY2025, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) reported a 6.4% year-over-year revenue increase to $7.67 billion, with operating and net margins at 24.1% and 18.5%, respectively.

The company added 5,726 employees during this quarter, bringing the total workforce to 612,724. TCS plans to hire 40,000 freshers by March 2025 and has initiated campus hiring for the next fiscal year.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) reported an attrition rate of 12.3% for the July-September quarter of fiscal year 2024-25 (Q2FY25). This was a slight increase from the previous quarter’s rate of 12.1%

In overall first half of the current financial year (H1FY25) or between April and September, TCS added more than 11,000 employees on a net basis.

“We added 11,000 associates in the first half of the year and are on schedule with trainee onboarding. Campus hiring for FY26 has also begun.” said Milind Lakkad, Chief HR Officer, TCS. 

He added, “Our skilled workforce and focus on continuous learning position us to handle the advanced technology projects our clients rely on.”

These developments highlight the IT sector’s and TCS’s growth and talent acquisition in the evolving IT services sector in 2025.
