Amazon India has partnered with AICTE to expand WoW program

An American multinational technology company, Amazon India has partnered with AICTE to expand the WoW program nationwide.

The company said on its page, “Amazon India has partnered with All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) to expand its WoW (Women of the World) program nationwide, empowering female engineering students to build tech careers.”

“We believe in inclusive growth and our efforts to democratize access to mentorship and learning opportunities will enable students to make informed career decisions”, it added.

Chetan Krishnaswamy, Vice President of Public Policy at Amazon India concurred, “I am elated to see this collaboration between Amazon and AICTE for the WoW program.”

“AICTE being the umbrella body for all technical education institutions will allow Amazon India to sensitize and upskill future women leaders in tech in all corners of the country”, Chetan Krishnaswamy added.

Amazon WoW is a networking platform for all women engineering students in India that connects them to Amazon leaders, recruiters, and the broader Amazon community.

The platform provides an opportunity to participate in skill-building sessions, utilize available resources, converse with alumni on their career experiences, and be acquainted with the culture at Amazon. The objective is to help women students build long-term careers in technology. 

Who can participate?

Amazon WoW will host sessions on tech and leadership development through the year. This would include preparatory sessions for interviews, what to expect during technical online assessment, how to write a good resume, how to choose a career path, opportunity to apply for roles at Amazon, and more.

  • Amazon WoW is open to all women students across engineering campuses in India.
  • Any women student who is currently pursuing a four-year B.Tech/BE or two-year MCA, M.Tech/ME program or five year Dual Degree can participate.
