In wake of COVID-19 outbreak, Bajaj Capital, an investment services company with Pan India presence has announced Zero Human Touch Attendance System for all employees of the organisation.

The company has put in place a 100 per cent App-based attendance system for the employees at PAN India level i.e. its 200+ plus branches and HO at Novus Tower, Gurgaon. The new process was initiated on 1st July and has been successful in achieving 80 per cent adoption, while 100 per cent adoption is expected by month-end.

Employees can mark their attendance from anywhere, while they work from home or office. Sales team members either start or end their day with client meetings and can mark their attendance from the client’s location itself. The app is user friendly and, in a single click, employees can mark their attendance.

The App-based attendance system also stands to benefit the company as it will help eliminate costs such as maintenance of biometric machines, manual labour in regularizing attendance etc.

Speaking on the occasion of the launch of the App-based attendance system, Sanjiv Bajaj, Joint Chairman & MD, Bajaj Capital, says, “After the outbreak of the deadly COVID-19 pandemic, even the biometric attendance system may not be entirely safe for the employees. We have been taking all the steps to ensure all safety protocols are adhered to and the introduction of app-based attendance is another step towards that. Security and safety of our employees is foremost for the company’s management and we will contribute to take all necessary measures for the benefit of all the workforce.

Further, the app-based attendance system is a part of our digital transformation that we in the company are experiencing to take the company on to the next level of customer satisfaction.”

Sunaina Mattoo Khanna, Chief People Officer, Bajaj Capital says, “We have integrated geo-fencing of a radius of 200 meters for all our office locations. This means any employee marking their attendance through the app at an office location, will not need a manager’s approval. The app will automatically process the attendance without manager intervention.

Attendance that is marked from home or client location will, however, go for the manager’s approval. Employees can also see the number of hours completed in a day, approval status, and track their attendance for the month.”

App-based attendance eliminates physical touch (biometric machines) thus ensuring employee safety which is very much required during these times. Further, the App cannot track employee location at all times, hence it does not invade their privacy.
