Deloitte: Nearly 30% of the workforce will be based out of India

According to Romal Shetty, CEO, of Deloitte South Asia, the largest professional services network by revenue and several professionals in the world, Deloitte plans to have around 30% of its workforce operating from India within the next four years.

Deloitte India currently employs about 50,000 people. The company plans to expand with global growth plans with an estimated total employee count ranging from 150,000 to 160,000.

The company has introduced the concept of a Chief Happiness Officer. This will make the workforce energized, content, and motivated by a sense of purpose. Nearly 33 percent of the company’s executive team are women.

Over the last four or five years, the company has consistently grown by over 30 percent overall, and last year it has grown over 40 percent overall as a firm.

According to the reports of the economic times, Additionally, Deloitte India was the fastest-growing member of the network in the world. There has been a growth from Rs 8,000 to Rs 20,000 crore is a significant clip. Punit (Renjen, ex-Global CEO) once said that Deloitte India’s revenues could be a rounding error in Deloitte’s global balance sheet. Deloitte has closed 19 acquisitions in the past three to four years.

Deloitte has invested in outstanding people of diverse talents and backgrounds and empowers them to achieve more than they could elsewhere. The company has always aimed to foster a culture of innovation where anyone can contribute their ideas. However, the company also acknowledges that hierarchies exist within organizations.

Additionally, workforce attrition has come down significantly due to the flexibility the company has provided to the staff. The women’s attrition has also come down. This is the situation when women’s attrition is going up in other companies. However, the company has also acknowledged that hierarchies exist within the organizations.
