Lenovo, a global technology powerhouse, takes another significant step in its commitment to India through advancing technology solutions and innovation capabilities by launching its Shared Support Center in Bengaluru.

The facility, which will serve Lenovo’s customers globally, includes a Network Operating Centre (NOC) and Security Operation Centre (SOC). The center is designed to deliver Remote Infrastructure Managed Services (RIM).

Benefiting Lenovo’s customers worldwide

The facility brings an array of benefits to Lenovo’s customers worldwide. In the initial phase, the Shared Support Center will deliver a broad suite of Remote Infrastructure Managed Services on servers, operating systems, virtualization, storage, network, data protection, database, middleware, security operations, public cloud operations and vendor management.

Customers across the world have the flexibility to choose services tailored to their specific needs, be it hardware, operating system/virtualization, storage, network, database/middleware, or a comprehensive package of all these offerings.

The RIM services encompass both managed IT infrastructure support and information security services, adhering to global standards.

The Center will also have a complete Digital Workplace Solutions (DWS) setup team to enable and empower Lenovo’s global customers with advanced technology to optimize productivity, enhance security, and create a seamless employee experience in the digital workplace.

Contributing to India’s growth and being the technology hub for the world

This Shared Support Center also brings in more job opportunities as the planned multi-year investment is expected to create over 1,000 technical jobs in the next few years, thereby reinforcing India’s position as a strategic location for IT services and innovation.

The services provided by the Shared Support Center are suited for all types of organizations, from small and medium businesses with limited IT support to large enterprises with heterogeneous IT environments. These organizations are spread across sectors such as banking and financial services, retail, manufacturing, energy & utilities, technology services, and telecom.

Shailendra Katyal, Managing Director, Lenovo India comments, “Our new Shared Support Center reflects Lenovo’s commitment to collaboration, harnessing India’s exceptional tech talent to support and serve global markets.”

“This strategic infrastructure investment is poised to drive exponential growth, offering cutting-edge solutions and services while solidifying Lenovo position in India as a prominent global tech hub. We take pride in contributing to the Nation’s progress and job creation, while also empowering businesses worldwide with advanced services and support capabilities”, Shailendra Katyal added.

Lenovo continues to invest in R&D capabilities and nurturing local talent in India, and it is committed to expanding its manufacturing presence with over five million devices already made in India last year.

Lenovo Group has manufacturing and R&D hubs already set up in India in addition to the Shared Support Center launched today. These include manufacturing for PC, tablets, and mobile phones, a development center for Cloud/Software, and 24×7 services support.
