As per Bloomberg reports, India’s largest mobility platform and one of the world’s largest ride-hailing companies, Ola CEO Bhavish Aggarwal has found himself in the middle of criticism.

According to reports, Ola CEO Bhavish Aggarwal tore up presentations just because of the missing page numbers. There are many employees who have revealed his abrasive behavior which upset board members and managers.

Furthermore, employees reveal that the meeting was scheduled for an hour-long meeting but it ended within 10 minutes. The employee told Bloomberg that he often loses patience over the poor quality of printing paper, crooked paper clips, and typos in the memo. Additionally, he calls the employees ‘useless’.

“Not everybody is a fit for our culture,” Aggarwal told Bloomberg when asked about his management style. “There’s no world standard on an even, sterile work environment.”

“Passions and emotions run high and we are not on an easy journey,” he said. “But I don’t want to choose an easier journey for myself or for Ola.”

Saurabh Saha shared a LinkedIn post saying, “If this is true then Ola might be one of the most toxic places to work. Somehow it’ll take a decade or two before Indian startups get what culture means. Till then the employees would be at the receiving end of such brutalities. I don’t think we as Indians understand the importance of respect in the workplace. It’s become a breeding ground for disrespectful behaviour lately.”.

In another incident, CEO Bhavish Aggarwal had asked an employee to run three rounds of the Ola Future factory spread over multiple acres as a punishment for keeping. The reason behind this was that an entryway was shuttered that should have been kept open.

Ola’s core mobility offering in India is supplemented by its electric-vehicle arm, Ola Electric; India’s largest fleet management business, Ola Fleet Technologies and Ola Skilling, which aims to enable millions of livelihood opportunities for India’s youth.
