TCS employees volunteer 2.2 million hours in FY23, set new record

An Indian multinational information technology services and consulting company, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) employees worldwide have reportedly volunteered 2.2 million hours.

TCS covers a volunteering programme HOPE (Hours of Purpose by Employees). The company had launched #millionhoursofpurpose as a part of the HOPE initiative. As a collective effort by its employees to volunteer 1 million hours every quarter.

The company believes in building greater futures by connecting people to opportunities in the digital economy. It is an ethos in keeping with the values of our parent company, Tata Group. The work we do is driven toward creating a fairer and more equitable world for all. 

The company has contributed to several projects that ‘TCSers’ felt passionately about were climate action (tree plantation, energy conservation, protecting biodiversity, cleanup drives), health promotion (mental health awareness, blood donation, road safety drives), poverty alleviation (donating food, clothes, books, toys) and skill-based volunteering (adult literacy, skilling and mentoring for youth employment).

Moreover, As the TCS initiative for experienced women professionals re-entering the workforce after a break Rebegin the company has been investing in the women workforce. The company has seen nearly 14,000 job applications in FY23.

Additionally, the company has focused on leadership development programmes like ‘iExcel‘ are driving change on this front. The annual report said the flagship executive leadership development programme for women has completed 22 editions and 1,450 women leaders have benefitted from it.

The company has been honoring all job offers and has added 22,600 employees on a net basis in FY 23. During the year, we onboarded over 44K freshers and our highest-ever number of experienced professionals.

It has also doubled down on organic talent development, obtaining over 53K cloud certifications during the year, bringing the total to over 110K employees certified on hyper scaler platforms
