All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has announced a virtual internship opportunity in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Data Science, with an application deadline of June 11, 2025.
This initiative is part of AICTE’s broader effort to bridge the gap between academia and industry, ensuring students gain hands-on experience in emerging technologies.
The internship is free to access and available through the National Internship Portal, allowing students across India to participate remotely.
The program is designed to enhance employability, offering exposure to real-world projects in collaboration with government and private organizations, including NIELIT, CDAC, SAMEER, and ERNET, as well as research institutes and startups.
AICTE Internship Structure and Learning Areas
Participants in the AICTE Virtual Internship will engage in project-based learning, covering key areas such as:
- Artificial Intelligence (AI): Model training, deployment, and basic algorithm development.
- Machine Learning (ML): Supervised and unsupervised learning using real-world datasets.

- Web Development & IoT: Exposure to full-stack development and sensor-based applications (for select internships).
- Cybersecurity & Data Analytics: Understanding system vulnerabilities and analytics tools.
Interns will also participate in workshops, weekly review meetings, and final project presentations, ensuring a structured learning experience.
Eligibility Criteria and Application Process
The internship is open to all students from technical, management, and allied fields, provided they are enrolled in a recognized institution and can register via the AICTE National Internship Portal.
While no prior experience is required for most listings, foundational knowledge in computer science, statistics, or programming is beneficial.
Students with beginner to intermediate skills in Python, SQL, or ML libraries (such as scikit-learn or TensorFlow) are encouraged to apply.
The registration process involves:
- Visiting the AICTE National Internship Portal and selecting the relevant internship listing.
- Completing the application form with academic details and technical skills.
- Submitting the application before June 11, 2025, to secure a spot in the program.
