The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), under the Ministry of Education, has announced AICTE Internship 2026 program.

India’s largest government-backed internship initiative aimed at providing over one lakh free and paid internship opportunities to students across diverse disciplines.

This nationwide effort seeks to narrow the gap between academic learning and practical industry exposure, empowering students from engineering, management, arts, commerce, and diploma backgrounds with hands-on experience that enhances employability and digital fluency.

Empowering Students for the Future Workforce

The AICTE Internship initiative is a cornerstone of the government’s mission to make Indian graduates industry-ready and aligned with emerging job market demands.

Through structured industry collaborations, students gain the opportunity to work on live projects, interact with corporate mentors, and develop professional competencies crucial for today’s digital economy.

Each participant will receive an AICTE-approved digital certificate, recognized by universities, government bodies, and employers — a credential that adds significant value to academic records and career prospects alike.

Key Highlights of the 2026 Internship Program

The upcoming 2026 internship drive promises to be the most inclusive and technologically advanced edition to date.
Key highlights include:

  • Over 1,00,000 internship positions across sectors like technology, finance, management, design, and public services.
  • Collaboration with leading corporates and government organizations, ensuring exposure to real-world projects.
  • Industry mentorship programs, where students will receive guidance from professionals and domain experts.
  • Integrated digital tools and platforms to streamline applications, progress tracking, and certification.
  • Accessibility for students across India, including rural and semi-urban areas, ensuring equitable learning opportunities.

Application and Selection

Interested students can apply through the AICTE Internship Portal, where listings from partnered companies and organizations will be available.

The selection process will include a mix of eligibility screening, online assessments, and mentor interviews, depending on the organization’s requirements.

The AICTE Internship 2026 program is not just an opportunity but a national movement toward experiential learning and employability transformation.

By connecting academia with industry at an unprecedented scale, AICTE continues to play a pivotal role in shaping India’s next generation of skilled professionals.
