Byju’s to hire 8000 employees in 2021 across the business
COVID-19 Pandemic and lockdowns sent India’s economy into its first contraction in decades, but for a few entrepreneurs, the crisis has also meant opportunity: Revenue for Byju’s is expected to double, to more than $1 billion, in the fiscal year ending next March.
Byju’s has huge plans for hiring in 2021, which also includes Work From Home positions. The Indian educational technology and online tutoring firm has announced that about 8000 new employees will be hired this year.
Pravin Prakash, Chief People Officer at BYJU’s has said, as many as 8000 people will be hired at the company, for multiple roles including Content, Sales and Product Development.
He added, the pandemic has “brought back the most essential and critical profession in the spotlight” – teaching.
He also said that there is a huge scope in employing technology to the educators in India so that the skills of the teachers will be improved with the help of appropriate tools and improving teaching methods.
BYJU’S has cleared that all the hiring will be carried out digitally.
Byju’s is an Indian educational technology and online tutoring firm founded in 2011 by Byju Raveendran. The company with a valuation of $11.1 billion, is a leading market player with highest market share in India’s growing edtech space.
