A recent survey has revealed that a staggering 90% of employees in India trust artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance their work processes.

This high level of trust reflects the growing acceptance and integration of AI technologies in the workplace.

This is driven by the confidence in AI’s return on investment (ROI) and the mandatory AI-use policies implemented by many companies.

AI Adoption in Indian Workplaces

The survey, conducted by Freshworks, highlights that 91% of Indian employees feel comfortable using AI tools, compared to 67% globally.

This comfort and trust are further supported by the fact that 45% of Indian workers use AI daily, nearly double the global average of 26%.

The survey also found that 74% of Indian professionals consider themselves knowledgeable or expert in artificial intelligence, well above the global average of 55%.

A key driver of this progress is the high percentage of employees stating that artificial intelligence-use policies are mandatory within their workplaces.

In India, employers require 65% of their employees to use artificial intelligence within all or part of their workload, the highest percentage globally.

This is particularly evident in IT and marketing sectors, where employees have noted that AI is both powerful and quick to show results.

Impact on Career Advancement and Business Success

The survey also indicates that 67% of Indian workers report career advancements tied to AI adoption, significantly higher than the US (34%) and UK (35%).

Businesses in India are prioritizing workforce readiness, with 90% saying artificial intelligence solutions are necessary to drive business success by 2025.

A significant 88% of these businesses are focusing on artificial intelligence training to future-proof their workforce.

The IT and marketing departments in India lead the race when it comes to implementing AI training programs.

Over two-thirds of Indian workers report career advancements tied to artificial intelligence adoption, significantly higher than the US and UK.

The report also highlights that 85% of leaders in Indian organizations report improved ROI from their AI investments.

The IT and marketing departments are seeing the most notable returns.
