IIT Delhi Placement Season 2024-25: 1,200 Offers, 50 International

IIT Delhi has commenced its placement season for the academic year 2024-25 on a highly positive note, with over 1,200 job offers already secured by students, including 50 international offers.

The placement season, which focuses on both undergraduate and postgraduate students, has seen participation from a diverse range of top-tier recruiters.

IIT Delhi Placements: Strong Start and Positive Outlook

Companies such as American Express, Barclays, BCG, BlueStone Jewellery & Lifestyle Private Limited, Deutsche India Pvt Ltd, Goldman Sachs, Google, Intel India, Meesho, Micron Technology, Microsoft, OLA, Oracle, PayU, Qualcomm, and Texas Instruments have extended double-digit offers.

This strong start has set a positive tone for the rest of the placement season.

Adding to the domestic success, students have secured more than 50 international offers from over 15 renowned organizations across various global regions, including Japan, the Netherlands, South Korea, Taiwan, the UAE, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

This international interest highlights the global competence and versatile skill set of IIT Delhi students.

Appreciation from Faculty and Recruiters

Professor Naresh Varma Datla, Professor-in-Charge of the Office of Career Services (OCS), expressed satisfaction with the ongoing placement season, stating that IIT Delhi has made an excellent start and is poised for continued success.

He also mentioned that the OCS is actively working to diversify the range of companies and job profiles available to students.

Similarly, Professor Suresh Neelakantan, Co-Professor-in-Charge, OCS, extended his appreciation to the recruiters for recognizing the talent and potential of IIT Delhi students and congratulated the students for their perseverance and outstanding efforts.

IIT Delhi: Previous Placement Season and Current Trends

During the 2023-24 placement cycle, IIT Delhi students secured 1,222 job and 741 internship offers.

An exit survey revealed that only 5% of the graduating students were still seeking career opportunities, with most of them being PhD scholars aiming for post-doctoral research positions abroad.

The number of students participating in on-campus placements during the 2023-24 cycle rose by 25% compared to the previous year, including a significant six-fold rise in the number of PhD scholars seeking offers.

The placement season, set to run until the end of the next semester, aims to secure opportunities for both undergraduate and postgraduate cohorts, further solidifying IIT Delhi’s standing as a premier academic institution.

The total number of graduates was about 10% higher than the previous year, with PhD graduates rising by 30%.

The highest domestic offer stood at Rs 1 crore per annum, and around 50 students secured packages exceeding Rs 1 crore.
