Capita, a leading British outsourcing firm, is set to revolutionize its hiring process by rolling out an AI-powered recruitment system this summer.

The new platform, developed in collaboration with Salesforce, is designed to significantly reduce hiring times.

It streamlines the recruitment process for high-volume hiring, cutting the timeline from weeks to mere hours across multiple industries.

AI-Driven Hiring: A Game-Changer for Recruitment

Capita hires approximately 10,000 employees annually for various government, armed forces, and corporate contracts.

The introduction of Agentforce AI, developed by Salesforce, will automate over 200 recruitment tasks, including job specification, candidate shortlisting, and initial screening.

Chief Executive Adolfo Hernandez highlighted the AI system’s efficiency, stressing its ability to generate a qualified pipeline of candidates.

This automation enables recruiters to shift their focus to final interviews and onboarding, eliminating the need for manual screening.

How AI Will Transform Hiring Process at Capita

The AI-powered recruitment system will:

  • Automate candidate screening, reducing human intervention in early hiring stages.
  • Match applicants to job specifications using advanced algorithms.
  • Speed up hiring decisions, cutting recruitment time from weeks to hours.
  • Enhance workforce agility, particularly for transient job markets.

Capita’s AI Catalyst Lab has been instrumental in identifying and scaling AI solutions, ensuring that the recruitment platform aligns with business needs and industry demands.

Concerns Over AI in Recruitment

While AI-driven hiring offers efficiency and scalability, concerns remain about algorithmic biases and the lack of human judgment in candidate selection.

Critics argue that automated recruitment may make it harder for job seekers to distinguish themselves, particularly in competitive fields.

Salesforce’s UK AI Center has partnered with Brunel University’s AI research team to address these concerns, focusing on ethical AI practices and bias mitigation strategies.
