Flipkart extends WFH for its 12,000 employees till May 31, 2021

E-commerce giant Flipkart has extended the ‘work from home’ policy for its 12,000 employees till May 31, 2021. This decision was taken by the Walmart-owned firm after the assessment of the current situation. Following this, the firm postponed its ‘phase-2 of the back to office plan’ till the end of May next year.

In an internal mail to employees Flipkart’s Chief People Officer Krishna Raghavan said, “Over the last several months, we have shown great resilience and character in dealing with the pandemic while adapting to altogether new ways of working, collaborating and staying optimistic.”

“After the assessment of the current situation, the company postponed its ‘phase-2 of the ‘back to office plan’ till May 31, 2021” he added.

Prior to this, the Walmart-owned company extended the ‘Work from Home’ policy till the end of December of 2020. Employees who have been working from home, will continue to do so and will come to the office only on occasion of an urgent need.
