Capgemini to hire 25% more people in India this year

Capgemini, the French information technology (IT) services provider and consulting firm has announced to hire about 30,000 people in India in 2021, a 25% increase from last year as the firm’s bullish business prospects amid a pandemic-induced surge in demand for digital solutions.

Last year, the It major hired 24,000 people, these include laterals as well as fresh hiring from campuses in India in 2020.

According to media reports, this year’s hiring will be across emerging digital skills like – artificial intelligence (AI), cloud, 5G, cybersecurity, engineering, and R&D as client demand is high in these areas.

The hiring of people will be a 50:50 mix of both freshers and laterals in 2021.

French IT services provider also plans large expansions in the workforce this year in anticipation of winning large contracts from clients as business gradually rebounds to pre-COVID levels.

As businesses ramp up their digital transformation priorities, the demand for skilled professionals in new age technologies like digital, cloud, data management and cybersecurity, etc is expected to rise.
