The Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) in Kanpur and Madras branches are offering various skill-based programs.

Indian Institutes of Technology Kanpur Cybersecurity Skilling Program

The IIT Kanpur is offering Cybersecurity Skilling Program. This course explores the most critical elements beyond technology that shape the playing field on which cybersecurity problems emerge and are managed. The course covers system security, malware analysis, network security, cryptography, and IoT security.

It is a fully online course providing students with both fundamental knowledge and hands-on experience. An integral part of the training is customized labs at every student’s desk through the cyber range. The institute has shared the following details:

  • Focuses on the models, tools, and techniques for enforcing security, with some emphasis on using cryptography.
  • Provides a deeper understanding of the technical basics of cyberspace and cyber issues.
  • Provides learners with a baseline understanding of common cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and risks.
  • Introduces real-time cyber security techniques and methods in the context of the protocol suites to introduce the need for network security solutions.
  • Duration of Program: 08 weeks (6 hours per week)
  • Course Duration: 48 hours

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras ‘out of the box thinking’ Mathematics course in levels 3 and 4

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras has launched an ‘out of the box thinking’ Mathematics course in levels 3 and 4.

The final exam will be conducted at the examination centres and will be proctored. The Course is being made available in online mode, free of cost, to everyone in India as well as in foreign countries. The four graded independent levels of the courses will be easily accessible to students, professionals, and researchers.

Prof. V. Kamakoti, Director, IIT Madras, said, “The Levels 1 and 2 of the ‘Out of the Box Thinking‘ course, which is first-of-its-kind in India, were well-received by students across India. This course is being offered free of cost. This course will greatly benefit School and College students, especially those residing in rural India. Thinking differently is crucial for innovation leading to entrepreneurship. Training the young mind to think differently, will in the long run yield creative youth for our nation.”

These courses are being offered through Online Mode completely free of cost through the IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation. The final examination will be a proctored one conducted at centres in select cities across India.
