Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail appoints Shobha Ratna as CHRO

An Indian fashion retail company, Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail has appointed Shobha Ratna as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) effective December 15, 2023.

Prior to this, most recently, she was Chief Operations Officer & Head HR & Training at Aditya Birla Sun Life Insurance.

Shobha replaces Chandrashekhar Chavan who will be moving to a new role within the group after February 15, 2024.

She is a Business professional with over 27 years of corporate experience and believes passionately in building strong organizations for high performance.

She has wide exposure in leveraging talent, organization design, culture, and human capabilities to deliver outstanding and sustainable outcomes. Her earlier stint also included working with Hindustan Unilever Ltd.

Shobha holds her Masters in PM&IR, Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration, General from Tata Institute of Social Sciences and completed her Bachelor of Technology from NIT, Calicut.

Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd. (ABFRL) emerged after the consolidation of the branded apparel businesses of Aditya Birla Group comprising ABNL’s Madura Fashion division and ABNL’s subsidiaries Pantaloons Fashion and Retail (PFRL) and Madura Fashion & Lifestyle (MFL) in May 2015.
