TCS is hiring for various roles, including 40,000 freshers in FY2024

An Indian multinational information technology (IT) services and consulting company, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is hiring for various roles in India and commits to hiring 40,000 freshers in FY2024.

N Ganapathy Subramaniam, COO, TCS said “We usually hire between 35,000 to 40,000 people and those plans are intact”.

“There are no large-scale layoffs. The way we’ve calibrated this is we’re working towards improving our utilization because we have a decent bench,” N Ganapathy added.

He also emphasized that TCS generally recruits between 35,000 and 40,000 people and that these plans will remain the same.

Tata Consultancy Services Gen-AI-ready workforce was over 100,000 strong at the end of the September quarter of the fiscal.

Tata Consultancy Services workforce stood at 608,985 as of September 30, reported a dip of 6333 employees.

TCS’s employee base continues to be very diverse, with 35.8% women and  152 nationalities. The IT services company witnessed a drop in headcount on a yearly basis too. Their headcount in Q2FY23 was at 616,171. The headcount in Q2FY24 was down by 7,186 employees.
