According to TOI report, A multinational software company CEO of Vistex Asia-Pacific Pvt Ltd Sanjay Saha died as one side of the iron chain supporting the cage broke.

The software company CEO Sanjay Saha was along with the president of the firm Raju Datla in the cage. The accident occurred during the corporate event of Silver Jubilee celebrations at Ramoji Film City (RFC). However, Raju Datla remained unconscious till Friday night.

Highlighting the incident Sub-Inspector D Karunakar Reddy said, “Suddenly, one of the two wires attached to the cage snapped. Both plunged more than 15 feet and landed on the concrete dais. This caused multiple injuries.”

“At the time of the accident, music was being played and Shah and Raju were waving to their staff while being lowered”, D Karunakar Reddy added.

A case was registered against the Film City event management authorities. The police have registered a case under Section 304-A (death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC)

On this occasion, Vineet Mangal, Managing Partner & Co-Founder, Beewise Consulting has raised a concern by a post saying, “Sad and shocking to read the news that the CEO died and the President battling for his life in the silver jubilee celebration at the company event.”

“Do we go mindlessly the extra mile to create thrill in employee engagement and risk so much for building entertainment? Is there a lack of professional ethics towards safety & and security in general or life is so cheap that tolerates shoddy jobs?”, he added.

He further said, “Is a BCP (business continuity plan) only a textbook chapter that the corporate world fails to practice? High time the #corporate takes note of these points and should not view this as a mere another accident.”
