Adani Power Elevates Amitabh Mishra to CHRO Role

Adani Power, a leading power and energy company in India, has announced the appointment of Amitabh Mishra as its Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), effective January 30, 2025.

This move comes as Amitabh replaces Sanjay Argade, who will transition to a new role within the Adani portfolio.

Role and Responsibilities at Adani Power

As the new CHRO, Amitabh will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources within Adani Power.

His role is categorized as Senior Management Personnel, and he will be working full-time to drive transformative initiatives and enhance systems, policies, and procedures.

Amitabh’s strategic vision and operational excellence will significantly contribute to organizational growth and employee well-being.

Sanjay Argade, the outgoing CHRO, will be transitioning to a new role within the Adani portfolio.

Adani Power has expressed confidence in Amitabh’s ability to lead the HR department and continue the company’s commitment to cultivating a supportive and empowering environment for its workforce.

Amitabh Mishra’s Background and Market Reaction

Amitabh Mishra brings with him an impressive 29-year career in human resources, including 15 years dedicated to the Adani Portfolio of Companies.

His extensive experience spans various facets of HR, such as Talent Acquisition, Industrial Relations, Employee Engagement, Talent Management, and Organization Development.

Amitabh holds a Post Graduation in Personnel Management from Savitribai Phule Pune University.

Following the announcement, shares of Adani Power soared by 5% on the BSE, closing at Rs 522.35 per share.

The company also posted a 7% rise in consolidated net profit for the December quarter, driven by higher electricity sales volume.
